warthog.jpgPlease in your prayers for the people of Zimbabwe don't forget to pray for the animals. Tens of thousands of wild animals have been senselessly killed by the so-called War Veterans, youth militias and nzouelephant.jpgsoldiers sent by the so-called Zanu Pf government of Robert Mugabe.

These animals include the endangered species like black rhino.

Not even animals are safe from the wicked rulers.

God is against cruelty to animals. “A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Proverbs 12:10

IMIRE SAFARI RANCH INVADED

Many of you will be familiar with Imire Safari Ranch from our reports about the orphaned baby rhino, Tatenda, the warthog, Hogwash, the hyena, Tsotsi and the elephant who thinks she is a buffalo, Nzou.

      TATENDA AND HOGWASH                                         TSOTSI

                                                     NZOU WITH HER BUFFALO

Many years ago, Imire Safari Ranch was designated by National Parks and the government as a black rhino breeding area and for this reason, it is one of the few places in Zimbabwe that still has wildlife. John and Judy Travers have devoted the best part of their lives to caring for these animals and have played a very important role in the preservation of the endangered black rhino in Zimbabwe. fox.jpg

On Sunday 29th June 2008, a group of war veterans went to Imire and demanded that John Travers shoot 3 impala for them to eat. When John refused, they stated that they would burn the place down. They were extremely aggressive and John eventually had no option but to shoot the impala. The invaders left with the impala, saying that Imire was at the top of their list and they were going to take it. The next morning, John reported the incident to the police who responded by initiating investigations.

Last night, Wednesday 2nd July, a group of about 16 war veterans arrived at Imire and told the Travers to vacate the property by this morning, Thursday 3rd July. They were threatened with their lives if they didn't comply. It has been alleged that an army general is leading the eviction thugs.

It is a foregone conclusion that if the invaders succeed in evicting the Travers, all the animals will be slaughtered within a very short space of time. We have reported the matter to National Parks who have confirmed to us that Imire is designated as a black rhino breeding area and is therefore not part of the land redistribution programme. They say that the invaders have obviously taken the law into their own hands and they will give the matter their urgent attention.

We are extremely concerned about all the animals at Imire, but in particular, Tatenda, Hogwash, Tsotsi and Nzou who we have come to know so well. We will circulate an update as soon as we have more news.

MUGABE AND HIS MILITARY JUNTA ACT TO DESTROY THE MDC; A CALL FOR THE MDC TO FORM GOVERNMENT IN EXILE

Mugabe his military junta’s plan to destroy the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and all dissenting voices is revealed – read news below.

We call the MDC to form a government in exile, relocate its offices outside Zimbabwe. Nothing is going stop Mugabe's atrocities expect massive resistance. I don't think there is any country interested in helping innocent people being murdered, abducted, tortured and starved by sending its troops to Zimbabwe.

Freedom of Zimbabwe is solely a responsibility of Zimbabweans not the SADC or UN. Many people don't care. We Zimbabweans need to take initiatives.

Now it’s a good opportunity for the MDC. The morale in the army and police is weak. Majority of police officers don't like Mugabe. Neighboring countries such as Botswana are now condemning Mugabe.

The MDC must act this is a death and life struggle for Zanu pf - Kill and destroy the MDC such that we survive. So the MDC must forget about sitting in the parliament and negotiating. Compromising with a murderous government- so-called government does not give them a virtue but an opportunity to deceive the MDC and murder people of Zimbabwe.

The forces of evil must be defeated. Now massive and decisive resistance is needed till the enemy surrender unconditional.

The West didn’t negotiate with hitler. The American founding fathers (dedicated Christians) didn't seek to negotiate with the British. They all resisted the enemy physical. Negotiating, compromising with a dictator does not bring good results.

It is my prayer that the MDC take the hard line not negotiating with criminals sitting in state offices. Read the article below.

Information Received from Credible Sources with the Zimbabwean Security Services

Soon after arriving back from the AU Summit in Egypt, Mugabe met with the ruling Junta, namely Chiwenga, Chihuru, Shiri, Mnangagwa, Zimondi and others.

He briefed them on:

AU Position on Zim

Botswana's position on Zim

West Africa (Nigeria)

All anti-Zimbabwe sentiments worldwide

Looming sanctions

UN Position

Africa's position

ZANU PF's increasing isolation from the rest of the world.

The Junta's response was the following:

  • To target and eliminate the MDC from the political map in Zimbabwe.

  • This operation is to begin at cell, ward, District, province and national levels.

  • To target and eliminate selected MDC MP's so that the other MPs are forced into hiding and after 21 days of being absent from parliament by-elections will be  held and rigged to regain ZANU PF's majority in parliament.

  • Killing of all critical journalists from both the public and private media to silence all independent voices.

  • Police internal security intelligence (PISI) have all the names of all the MDC activists in the country so targeting them will not be a problem.

  • This is meant to cripple the MDC to eventually force it into a government of national unity where it will be swallowed by ZANU PF and there will be no MDC in the future.

  • This operation is being coordinated now and all logistics are being mobilized. The operation will begin Monday 7th July 2008.

  • The Junta assured Mugabe that no country in the world can invade Zimbabwe as their state of preparedness was second to none in Africa.

It is obvious from this information that the Mugabe regime is not sincere about negotiating a peaceful resolution to the Zimbabwe crisis and is determined to continue to wage war against the people of Zimbabwe.

How Mary Nyandoro was tortured

New Cases of torture in Zimbabwe

Serious cases of torture are still going on in Zimbabwe. Please support Zimbabwe. The country is battling for freedom from criminals playing a government.

In the article below there are three cases of people tortured by the War Vets and Mugabe's ZANU PF militias.

Collen Makumbirofa

Article emailed to me
Mugabe's Zanu-PF denies intimidating opposition voters before the run-off poll. But a local correspondent went undercover for the Telegraph to reveal the truth about the tyrant's campaign of violence.

Traitors': Victims have been brutally taught the error of their ways

The militia brought Mary Nyandoro into the school yard blindfolded and in handcuffs.

"Witness the baptism of traitors," Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF thugs told us. In the cold of the early morning, we gathered around as instructed. Mary's crime had been to vote for the opposition Movement for Democratic Change in Zimbabwe's blighted elections. She was a peasant farmer, about 30 years old, frail and defenseless.

Article continues

They frogmarched her into the yard, then they made her do press-ups while bricks were loaded on to her back. Any lapses attracted the fiery boot of George, the commander – a heavily built man of about 35 who claimed to be a war veteran, one of those who supposedly fought in the war of independence and who now keep Mr. Mugabe in power.

Then the militia descended on Mary like a group of vultures fighting for a carcass. Booted feet and clenched fists struck her all over her body, on the face, the ribs, and the buttocks. Her tattered blouse was torn open. They ignored her plea for forgiveness and, in agony; she writhed from one side of the militia wall to the other – blood, so much blood, gushing from her battered red mouth and nose. Her legs struggled to hold on.

Suddenly, a group of about 30 women broke into song and dance, denouncing Mary and pouring buckets of cold water on her clothes as she rolled across the mud. "Watch out sell-outs, the mighty of Zanu-PF is fast catching up with you," they sang in the Shona tongue.

As they sang, some women whipped her. Something hot was used to burn her forehead. They left her virtually naked.

The militia had been camped at the Chitangazuva primary school, about 90 miles east of Harare, since it closed in March before the election, turning its classrooms into a torture camp. They drew up a list of "traitors" – people who had failed to vote for Mr. Mutable – and set about tracking them down to teach them the error of their ways.

At 4am every day, the militia breaks down the doors of their targets' homes and march the victims to the school where malnourished local people are made to sing Zanu-PF revolutionary songs. The victims are tortured and then left in pools of blood while the militia returns to the villages to extract more victims.

People acting as good Samaritans smuggle them out of the school to hospital. But the conditions are squalid. There is no running water, they are not allowed to use the pit latrines, or bath.

Mary was number 199 on the list of the "traitors". Temba Kateta, a school teacher and supporter of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change, was number 200. They caught up with him last week.

I was there when they brought him in. George quickly took over. He grabbed Temba by the collar, sank his hard palms into his collar bone like a baboon crushing a nut, and branded him "a sell-out".

Fresh thorns had been spread on the ground. As the teacher's name was called, he looked desperate but helpless, trapped by two pairs of police handcuffs which were fastened round his hands and legs and tied together by a string, leaving him slumped in a heap. In that state, they made him roll to and fro on the ground. He had to denounce Morgan Tsvangirai, the MDC leader, ignoring the pain from the thorns piercing his skin. Then they started beating him.

They beat him on the soles of the feet with a car's fan belt, swapping over at intervals so that there was no relief from the pain. Then they attacked his back with axe handles and burnt him with melted plastic until he could not shout, then they forced him to reveal the names of other MDC supporters.

So he named them, and instantly a manhunt began.

I do not know what happened to those named by Temba, because I had to leave to get a pass from the "war veterans" to get in and out of the area – which, like all the rural constituencies, has been sealed off with police roadblocks. It is a passport that gives you safe passage and allows interaction with the people there. Only with this paper could I pass through the roadblocks and leave.

Later, I met a 64-year-old woman, Kerit Chivake, who had both her arms broken by a gang of youths after they learnt that she had voted MDC.

I was told that Mary had been taken to the Mutoko General Hospital, where the doctors found she had a fractured skull, as well as a broken rib and bruising all over her body. Just above her damaged eyes, a deep red mark remains, where her skin was seared. I think that mark is with her for the rest of her life. The article ends here.

This is a picture of women who was tortured by Mugabe's militias

This man was tortured by Mugabe's man

These are pictures of victims of Mugabe's freedom. The whole nation is groaning in oppression. Tens of thousands have been tortured since 29 March 2008. More than 200 000 people have been displaced by this State terrorism. More than 80 Zimbabweans have been murdered by combination of War Vets, State militias, Soldiers, CIO (secret police), and police.. Mugabe and his ZANU PF, a criminal government must go at all costs.

Please support Zimbabwe. Tens of thousands of dissenters are staving to death. You may donate in cash or kind to help these victims. Write letters to your favorite newspapers, magazines and to politicians urging them to act on the massacres going on in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe needs you; your practical support or prayer and action. What is necessary for evil to triumph is that good man do nothing.

MDC supporters continue to be murdered even after the one man election of 27 June 2008. ZANU pf must be resisted. l think God forbid that ZANU PF be not resisted. We don't have time to talk to Mugabe while people are being murdered and imprisoned country wide.

South African leaders talking about Unity government are hypocrites not to be trusted. Whatever they advocate for most time is wrong.

1 500 MDC activists in jail;National Youth Chairman battles for his  life

MDC Pressroom--Over 1 500 MDC activists, including 20 MPs and parliamentary candidates, across the country are in police custody following a massive State-sponsored crackdown against the MDC.

The MDC supporters and members have been arrested on charges of being involved in political violence whilst most MPs are being accused of trumped-up charges of inciting political violence.

The arrests come at a time when 103 supporters who have been murdered by Zanu PF supporters but not a single Zanu PF supporter has been arrested. About 5 000 of our supporters, mainly polling agents and council candidates, are still missing after having been abducted by Zanu MP militia and Sate security agents in unmarked vehicles.

The continued onslaught of our structures shows that Zanu PF is not sincere in the so-called dialogue it says it wants with the MDC. The regime cannot talk dialogue when it is acting war across the length and breadth of the country. The regime cannot be allowed to pretend that it wants peace when it is acting violence on the ground.

Thousands of our supporters are still in the mountains, fearing for their lives while others are still in hospital nursing serious injuries sustained by Zanu PF and state security agents following the historic defeat of Zanu PF and Robert Mugabe during the watershed polls of 29 March 2008. Those polls remain the only credible polls that were deemed relatively free and fair by regional and continental observer missions.

The injured include Thamsanqa Mahlangu, the MP-elect for Nkulumane who is also the national youth chairman of the MDC. Mahlangu is battling for his life in a Harare hospital after being bludgeoned by Zanu PF thugs at an aborted rally at the Glamis Arena in Harare on Sunday, 22 June 2008.

The MDC condemns the ongoing State-sponsored violence, which is meant to decimate the party and its structures. There cannot be any meaningful dialogue while the regime continues to maim and kill with impunity—with neither shame nor compunction.

The people's victory is certain. It can only be delayed but not aborted..

Please find below the Statement by the Botswana Observer Team of the
SADC Election Observer Mission that was read out at this morning's Press
Conference Gaborone, which was also addressed by Hon. Minister of
Foreign affairs and International Cooperation (Statement Previously
forwarded)

STATEMENT OF THE BOTSWANA OBSERVER TEAM ON THE JUNE 27, 2008 ZIMBABWE
PRESIDENTIAL RUN-OFF ELECTIONS

On behalf of the Botswana Team that took part in the observation of the
Zimbabwe Presidential run off elections I would like to start off by
thanking the Government of Botswana for having given us the opportunity
to be part of the SADC Election Observer Mission otherwise known as
SEOM.

Due to time constraints what we are going to present here today is a
brief summary of our report to the Botswana Government concerning our
observations, findings, and conclusions as we saw the situation on the
ground.

The main objective of our mission was to ensure that the Zimbabwe
Presidential run-off elections were held in accordance with the SADC
Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections.  These
principles constitute on essential tool for determining the validity,
integrity and credibility of elections.  The expectation was that at the
end we should be able to make a determination as to whether or not the
elections were free and fair.  Briefly stated and to the extent material
these principles are as follows:

* Full participation of the citizens and political process
* Freedom of association
* Political tolerance
* Equal opportunity for all political parties to access the state media
* Equal opportunity to exercise the right to vote and be voted for
* Independence of the judiciary and the impartiality of the electoral
institutional, just to mention but a few

The team which represented Botswana was made up of 50 persons drawn from
the three political parties represented in the National Assembly, Civic
Bodies, Civil Servants and Academics.

I believe ladies and gentlemen as you can see the team is well
represented in terms of gender balance, age and background.  All in all,
the SADC Observer Mission had 413 observers from 12 of the 14 SADC
member states.  You will note that the number was quite large compared
to the number sent in the March 29 elections.  The Government of
Botswana also availed 8 vehicles to be used by the Mission.  The
increase in the number was to allow for a better coverage of the
election process taking into account the nature of these elections.  You
will note with the benefit of hindsight ladies and gentlemen, that this
approach by Government has benefited the Mission and SADC as well as all
those concerned about the situation in Zimbabwe.  Because of the
numbers, we were able to cover all the 10 provinces of Zimbabwe and this
gave us the opportunity to observe first hand what transpired during the
run-up to the elections.

OBSERVATIONS AND FINDINGS

Coming to the observations and findings I will start with the campaign
process.

1. CAMPAIGN PROCESS

In terms of the SADC principles, contesting parties are entitled to
equitable access to the state controlled media.  We however observed
that the state media prominently featured ZANU-PF political
advertisements and messages to the exclusion of MDC-T.  In the few
instances where reference was made to the MDC - T in the state media,
the messages were ZANU -PF sponsored and intended to disparage,
de-campaign and discredit the MDC-T.  A case in point was a TV
advertisement depicting Morgan Tsvangirai's head alongside those of some
three known heads of state from the Western world and is entitled the
Loser's club.  On inquiry by the observers as to why MDC-T was not
covered, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission responded by saying ZBH which
controls the state media declined to flight MDC advertisements on the
basis that they were uncomfortable with the language used.

I will now move on to the observations we made under the right to vote
and be voted for.  Voting in Zimbabwe is in two ways, there is postal
voting which is conducted some days prior to the actual voting day and
the voting that takes place on polling day.  Postal voting is intended
for members of the disciplined forces, foreign missions and any other
applicant whose nature of duty may take them away from their wards on
polling day. Under postal voting ZEC informed the observers that in the
March 29 elections 8000 people had applied for postal voting, but that
in the Presidential run-off elections this number had increased to
64000.  The Observer Teams were however, not able to observe the postal
voting process because information about it was not forthcoming from
ZEC.  Even where the Observer Teams got information about postal voting
taking place they were denied access to the polling stations by the
Commanders at the Police Stations where most of this postal voting was
taking place. When the Observer Teams enquired about this with ZEC we
were informed that it was within the discretion of the Commanding
officers to either grant or refuse such authority.  Worth noting
however, was that the Observer Teams received reports that postal voting
took place in the presence, and under the directions of Commanding
Officers who instructed their juniors to vote for the ZANU-PF candidate
or risk losing their jobs.

2. HOLDING OF RALLIES

The Team observed that the holding of rallies was a preserve of the
ruling ZANU - PF, whilst the MDC-T political rallies were systematically
disrupted by the ZANU-PF militia and youth.  For instance, on Sunday
22nd June 2008, the Team witnessed first hand how a planned "star rally
organized by Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai  was  prevented from taking place by
a group of youth wearing ZANU-PF regalia armed with sticks, stones and
sjamboks.  They chased and indiscriminately beat all the people in the
vicinity of the venue where the rally was taking place.  All this was
done in full view of SADC observers including some members present here.
Riot police passively witnessed these attacks making no attempts
whatsoever to intervene.  After completing their task these youth
retreated to the ZANU-PF headquarters where they were treated to food.

Other incidents of politically motivated violence by the Team included
the following:

People believed to be associated with the MDC-T party were subjected to
severe beatings, harassment, torture, killings and general threats of
violence.  The Police also appeared not to be enforcing law and order,
and the ZANU-PF youth and militia mounted illegal road blocks, forcing
people to attend ZANU-PF rallies and had bases where they tortured
perceived opponents under the guise of re-educating them.  In contrast
ZANU-PF supporters received the full protection of the Police as their
rallies were never disrupted nor did they report any incidents of
harassment to the Observer Teams.

3. LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE ELCTORAL PROCESS

During the campaigns, the observer mission noted with concern the
uncompromising positions adopted by the contesting political
parties/candidates to accept the outcome of the electoral process.  The
MDC-T Presidential candidate Mr. Tsvangirai, on the one hand made it
clear that he will not accept a win by ZANU-PF Presidential candidate,
Mr. Mugabe, citing politically motivated violence among other things.
On the other hand, ZANU-PF President Mr. Mugabe made it clear at most
political rallies and meetings he addressed that he would not accept the
outcome of the election if MDC-T presidential candidate won.  His
reasons were also supported by the leadership of the party, the Military
and Police Commanders.

4. POLITICALLY MOTIVATED VIOLANCE

The team observed high level of intimidation and politically motivated
violence that escalated with the approach to the run-off elections
leading to injuries to persons, internal and external displacements of
people, abductions, loss of property, loss of lives, theft and looting.
In short, the may hem observed by the team, had the effect of depriving
the people of Zimbabwe, the opportunity to fully participate in the
electoral process.

5. POLLING DAY VOTING

Generally speaking there was an apparently calm atmosphere on voting
day.  But beneath this calmness was a noticeable voter intimidation
where voters were required to record the Serial Number on their ballot
papers and later submit that information to functionaries of the ruling
ZANU-PF.  One actually came and asked where the serial number is. This
was intended to induce some voters into believing that the information
pertaining to how they voted would be accessible and used against them.

In some rural polling stations, Chiefs/Headmen were used to record the
names of their subjects who were then required, against their will, to
go and queue behind their chief / headmen on voting day and vote in a
pre-determined sequence.  In this way voters were made to believe that
their voting patterns were capable of being verified as to whether they
indeed voted for ZANU-PF. We noticed a high number of those who said
they could not read and write and in such cases they were  "assisted" by
the Presiding Officers in the presence of two other Polling Officers and

6. WITHDRAWAL OF MR. MORGAN TSVANGIRAI FROM THE RACE

It is now common knowledge that on 22 June 2008 Mr. Tsvangirai announced
his withdrawal from the Presidential race citing among other things the
prevalence and escalating politically motivated violence.  It is also
common knowledge that ZEC did not accept his withdrawal from the
elections arguing that it was not in accordance with the Zimbabwe
electoral laws and regulations.  The bottom line however, is that for
all intents and purposes the election effectively became a one-horse
race, pitting Mr. Robert Mugabe against a non-participating Mr. Morgan
Tsvangirai.  It is worth noting however, that even after Mr.
Tsvangirai's withdrawal from the race the level of violence did not go
down.  Voter harassment and intimidation, beatings and displacements
continued unabated.

7. HARASSMENT OF OBSERVERS

The Team noted with that some Observers were subjected to harassment.
On different occasions, some members of the Team were chased away from
rallies addressed by ZANU-PF and prevented from carrying out their
observer duties.  In some instances, Observers were threatened with
violence and instructed to leave such rallies.  The Team was in
particular singled out for harassment on account of perceptions that
Botswana was anti-ZANU-PF.

CONCLUSION

The level of intimidation and political violence that escalated with the
approach of the June 27 Presidential run-off elections has been clearly
catalogued.  There were many victims of violence in the form of
injuries, displacements, abductions, loss of property, and loss of
lives.  The atrocities have been corroborated and constitute the
necessary evidence to conclude that the credibility and integrity of the
election process was compromised.

Notwithstanding the apparent orderly conduct that prevailed on voting
day, the entire election process was marred by a wave of violence.  The
Team therefore concludes that the Presidential run-off election was not
free and fair and does not represent the will of the people of Zimbabwe.
